You quit messing with your layout?
I’ve been thinking of keeping this layout. The black sort of fits my pod lately. (Seriously? Pod? !@&$#!) Mood. Not pod. Moments like this make me wonder if I really want to manage this blog on my iPad…but manage I must and this is what I got…so no more changing the site every time I post something. I loved it and it was fun, but it’s a pain in the ass on an iPad, and I am computer less at home until further notice.
Now where was I? Oh yeah, my black mood.
I can’t decide if it’s the shitty economy that has me down, or the increased amount of stupidity that I am exposed to on a daily basis.
It’s definitely one of those two… That or hormones, never rule out hormones and their ability to make your life suck.
I should write some emo concept album, something dark and painfully moody, maybe it would make me feel better. Or some depressingly moody poetry. Like this!
Ode to Spot
Someone killed a cat in my hometown
Wrote liberal across its side
Left it on a doorstep for the kids
Hoping to make freedom hide.
Cops didn’t want to take a pic
Didn’t want to be involved.
As far as the local laws concerned
Another mystery unsolved.
When did liberal become such a bad word that you would write it on a dead cat?
Arkansas Senator John Boozman has pulled his support of SOPA and PIPA… which is saying a lot since he was a cosponsor of PIPA.
From his Facebook page -
“Over the past few weeks, the chorus of concerns over Congressional efforts to address online piracy has intensified. I can say, with all honesty, that the feedback I received from Arkansans has been overwhelmingly in opposition to the Senate bill (S.968, the PROTECT IP Act) in its current form. That is why I am announcing today that I intend to withdraw my support for the Protect IP Act.
I will have my name removed as a co-sponsor of the bill and plan to vote against it if Majority Leader Reid brings it to the floor in its current form.
The PROTECT IP Act seeks to address an issue that is of vital importance to the future of intellectual property rights in the modern era. However, the concerns regarding the unintended consequences of this particular bill are legitimate. Therefore, we should not rush to pass this bill, rather we should be working to find another solution so that the epidemic of online piracy is addressed in a manner that ensures innovation and free speech is protected. I have confidence that we can do this, but not as the PROTECT IP Act stands today.
Online piracy hinders creativity and steals jobs. Much of this criminal behavior comes from rogue websites operating in countries like Russia and China. Their ability to operate threatens American ingenuity by distributing copyrighted material free of charge. We must work to ensure that copyright holders are protected if we want to defend American ingenuity, ideas and artwork.
The goals of the Protect IP Act are commendable, but the potential for damaging unintended consequences is its major flaw. Moving forward, I will work with my colleagues, the stakeholders and the American people to find a workable solution that protects intellectual property rights while promoting an open and vibrant Internet.
I want to thank you for raising your concerns about this bill. Your voice has been heard.”
I also received a very nice personal email from the Senator – being as how I sent him a flaming email I did not expect a response. So I have to say that for a republican – Boozman might be OK.

Evidently Boozman did not want his ubber conservative constituents to know how hip he was… he took down the pic of him and Bono.
This website has gone black in protest of SOPA.
I know it’s supposed to go completely away for 24 hours… but that’s a lot of werk for one little blog, and dammit I’m busy.
I agree with Justin Bieber.
Yep. Never thought I would say that. What we agree on is SOPA. The Stop Online Piracy Act, or as I like to call it – The Death to YouTube Bill. This bill would jail people for posting other people’s work on youtube, even their own performances of other people’s work. So Justin could then go to jail for the very videos that made him the new King of Pop. Irony!
“People need to have the freedom… people need to be able to sing songs. I just think that’s ridiculous.” – The Bieb
I agree it is ridiculous. But I think it goes beyond whether or not I want to sing a cover of Yesterday by the Beatles (maybe with some different lyrics)
It’s about the freedom to express yourself online. To create Art for the shear sake of Art. I haven’t made a dime off anything I have put on YouTube. I don’t imagine I ever will, and even if I do make some change off it, it will never be enough to cover the costs of my equipment. You shouldn’t have to go to jail for a hobby. You shouldn’t have to go to jail for being a fan.
I am not a fan of Bieber’s. (though I do have some respect for him now) I am a fan of Pink Floyd…and I’ve been reading George R.R. Martin’s Song of Ice and Fire Series that HBO has based Game of Thrones on…Oh and did I mention it was Mashup week on Glee? I always find that inspiring.
Here’s the latest video from the warped mind of Stonygirl…. enjoy.
